FIFA Revoke Suspension Brunei and Bosnia
World Football Federation (FIFA) has officially lifted the suspension to the two football associations of Brunei Darussalam and Bosnia-Herzegovina. This was decided in the Assembly Executive Committee (EXCO), Monday, May 30, 2011 and read out directly by the President of FIFA, Joseph 'Sepp' Blatter.
"We have lifted sanctions in Bosnia and also Brunei. For Brunei, the association they now have a new name," Blatter said at a news conference via video streaming directly from the headquarters of FIFA, Zurich, Switzerland, on Monday evening hrs.
Football Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (FFBH) obtain sanctions from FIFA's suspension since March 31, 2011. The reason, the federation president FFBH have three at once.
FIFA frees FFBH of sanctions for having completed the problem. That is, Bosnia sanctioned only for 2 months.
While Brunei now has a new football federation named NFABD. Once the federation was called BAFA. Brunei to get sanction from FIFA due to intervention of the Kingdom of Brunei.
FIFA imposed a suspension on September 30, 2009. Not only that, Brunei also dropped from the membership of FIFA since March 19, 2010. Suspension lifted after FIFA's Emergency Committee to intervene and shape according to Football Federation Brunei FIFA Statutes. Total, Brunei hit by suspension for 20 months.
